MARCH 15th Firefighters family Day on the water
We jumped at the chance to support the Firefighters Family day on the water when were heard that Nigel form Above and Beyond Boating was putting together the day to say thankyou to our amazing firefighters and their families.
There was very few of us who werent effected in some way by the devasting fires over spring and summer, and the courage and genorisity of the volunteer firefighters was appreciated by us all.
We were happy to be a sponsor for the Clean Up Australia Day Regatta, combining our two passions. 220 boats took part in the Regatta, which was an amzing sight and a wonderful way to mark the 30th Anniversary of this great initiative showing the power we can have as a community.
We had a wonderful time down at The Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart. It was our first time showing and we really enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of our current customers as well as people who knew the Harry West name. We had great talks with some people who had worked for West family and remembered the East Balmain loft, or the current place in Kirribilli. Flags have a special place in peoples hearts, so hearing of the Harry West Flags being in the family for many generations makes us very happy.
There is a great atmosphere at the show, with so much to see and do, not to mention the great food and wine and hospitality from the people of Hobart, its hard not to enjoy it
When the Invictus Games came to Sydney this year we were very pleased be one of the many suppliers of the games. We made the Invictus Games flag for the Harbour Bridge that Prince Harry erected, along with Prime Minister Scott Morrison and four members of the Australian team and the widow of an Australian veteran.
Scott Morriosn said "The Sydney Harbor Bridge is an Australian icon and I can think of no better place to raise the ... flag"
The Invictus Games is a wonderful organisation that was created by Prince Harry for the wounded, sick or injured services personnel and veterans compete in sport. "The Games harness the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who serve their country.
The Invictus Games is about much more than just sport – it captures hearts, challenges minds and changes lives."
We enjoyed the very small part we could play in this amazing foundation.
